These rules cover how guides, build logs, benchmarks and marketplace threads are shared on this forum, and what each member is responsible for when posting or using them.
HardwareModdingIN is a community forum where members publish step-by-step modding guides, overclocking settings, thermal benchmark results, component compatibility notes and local marketplace listings. The platform itself does not sell hardware, does not perform modifications and does not guarantee that any posted guide will work on a specific motherboard, GPU or cabinet. Every guide is the opinion and experience of its author, not a verified standard.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you post, including voltage values, fan curves, STL files and component compatibility claims. Before publishing a guide or benchmark, check that your measurements are reproducible and that your instructions do not encourage unsafe practices such as exceeding the rated limits of a power supply or shorting a circuit. If you share a marketplace listing, describe the item honestly, state its condition and confirm that it is physically available in your city.
The forum provides a space for discussion only. We do not accept liability for damage to hardware, data loss, personal injury or financial loss that results from following a guide, using a recommended voltage setting, installing a 3D-printed bracket or buying a component from another member. Always verify the specifications of your own components and test new settings gradually. Overclocking and custom cooling carry inherent risks, especially in tropical ambient temperatures above 35°C.
You keep ownership of the guides, photos, logs and files you post. By publishing on this forum, you grant other members a non-exclusive right to read, download and reference your content for personal use. Republishing a full guide on another website or in a printed magazine requires written permission from the original author. If you adapt someone else's STL file or voltage table, credit the original author and link back to the thread.
We may restrict or remove access to the forum if a member repeatedly posts misleading benchmark data, sells counterfeit components, harasses other users or ignores safety warnings in their guides. A temporary suspension is issued first, with a clear explanation of the rule that was broken. Permanent removal is reserved for cases that put other members at risk, such as deliberately recommending unsafe mains-voltage modifications.
We may update these terms when the forum adds new features, such as a verified expert badge or a regional parts exchange. Changes are announced in the community news thread at least seven days before they take effect. Continued use of the forum after that date means you accept the updated rules.
